The short version
- We don't have a server, and we don't want one. Warmup runs entirely on your own device.
- We don't track you. No analytics, no cookies, no advertising, no crash reporting, no "phone home." None.
- We never see your tasks. Your worksheets live on your device. We have no database, so there is nothing about you for us to look at, sell, or lose.
- Google Drive sync is optional, and it syncs into your Drive. If you turn it on, a copy of your Warmup content is saved to a private, app-only folder in your own Google account. It still never passes through us.
That's the whole story. The rest of this page is the detail.
What we collect
Nothing. Warmup has no accounts, no sign-up, no contact form, and no backend service that receives your data. We do not collect your name, email, IP address, location, device identifiers, or usage statistics.
Because there is no server collecting information, there is also no breach of our systems to worry about — we hold none of your data.
What stays on your device
Everything you create in Warmup is stored locally in your browser or app:
- Your worksheets — task lists, columns, and their contents
- Saved templates, reusable patterns, and background images you upload
- Your preferences (theme, layout, language, and similar settings)
This data is kept in your browser's local storage on your own device. It is not transmitted anywhere unless you choose to sync or export it. Background images you add are read from your device and stored locally — they are never fetched from, or sent to, any outside service.
You can move your data yourself at any time using Export (a file that downloads to your device) and Import. These are manual, user-initiated actions.
Google Drive sync (optional)
Warmup offers optional synchronization through Google Drive so your worksheet content can follow you between devices. It is off until you explicitly enable it and sign in with Google.
What is stored, and where
When sync is enabled, Warmup saves a copy of your worksheet content — your columns, saved templates, background images, and task data — as a file in a hidden, application-specific folder inside your own Google Drive (Google calls this the app data folder). This folder is part of your Google account, is not visible in your normal Drive file list, is not accessible to other apps, and is protected by your own Google sign-in.
The data is stored as a plain JSON file. It is not separately encrypted by Warmup beyond the protection Google applies to your account and Drive storage, so you should treat it as you would any file in your own Drive.
What we ask Google for — and what we don't
Warmup requests the narrowest possible permission: a single scope, drive.appdata, which grants access only to Warmup's own hidden folder. We do not request:
- access to any of your other Google Drive files or folders;
- your email address, name, profile, or photo;
- any other Google service (Gmail, Contacts, Calendar, and so on).
Because we never request your identity, the sign-in does not tell Warmup who you are. We see only that a Google account authorized the app — never which account.
Who can see your synced data
- You can, through Warmup on your signed-in devices.
- Google can, as the provider of your Drive storage, under Google's Privacy Policy.
- We cannot. Your data goes directly from your device to your Google Drive. It does not pass through, and is not stored on, any server we operate.
We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to anyone. We have no ability to, because we never receive it.
Turning it off and deleting synced data
You can disconnect sync at any time from within Warmup, which revokes the app's access to your Google account. You can delete the synced data by removing Warmup's app data folder from your Google account (Google Account → Data & privacy → "Apps linked to your account"). Your local, on-device data is removed by clearing the app's data in your browser or uninstalling the desktop app.
Google Limited Use disclosure
Warmup's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use the Google Drive permission solely to provide the sync feature you asked for, and for no other purpose.
What we deliberately do not do
To be explicit, Warmup does not:
- run analytics or telemetry of any kind;
- set cookies or use tracking technologies;
- display advertising;
- send crash or error reports to us or any third party;
- load fonts, images, scripts, or other resources from third-party servers or CDNs;
- contact any server other than Google's, and only when you've turned on Drive sync.
The desktop app's automatic-update checker is currently disabled, so it does not contact an update server in the background.
Children, changes & contact
Warmup is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, we collect none from children either.
If we change how Warmup handles data, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
